Student Experience
At Besant Hill, students experience an immersive environment where academics, extracurricular activities, and residential and social life intertwine closely. In an increasingly multicultural world, it’s important to become comfortable with diversity. There’s no better way to achieve that than by living, learning, and playing alongside students and faculty from all over the world.
Day Student Life
Our day students are as much a part of Besant Hill life as those living on campus and are invited to participate in all residential life activities, represent the student government, and shape the day student experience via an official Day Student Representative. Day parents and the Head of School meet regularly either at school, or at choice locations in Ojai for coffee, and discuss school life, celebration of day student achievements, and planning for future activities. As they are the parents with the most proximity to the school, our day parents – and their day students – are an integral part of Besant Hill life and its culture.

Residential Life
About 85% of our students live on campus; their home away from home and in a small warm community of mutual respect, inclusivity, and support for all. Our residences feature comfortable, modern rooms that you will share with one roommate, as well as lounge areas that lend themselves to plenty of relaxing and a home-like feel.
99% of our faculty and their families live in the dorms as dorm parents. These faculty take an active role in both teaching and student life. They provide mentorship, supervision, and support to students in and out of the classroom. Our residential faculty oversee dorm activities, guide students in their personal development, and foster community. Their role is integral in creating a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive.
